Modifying and Tuning Fiat/Lancia Twin-cam engines - Guy Croft

I think this is still the only book dedicated to tuning Fiat/Lancia twin-cams and it is quite simply the bible on the subject. Way over my head when I first read it, this is an in-depth study of the engines and tuning theory. A must have for anyone seriously considering getting the most from their Spider.

Essential Fiat 124

Spider and Coupe - Martin Buckley Interesting read about the 124's (predominantly Spider) history with good sections on the Abarth and rallying. The anoraks may spot a few errors but nevertheless all good stuff for the Spider-enthusiast.

Fiat 124 Coupe/Spider & 2000 Spider 1971-1984 Shop Manual - Brooklands Books

General workshop manual covering models from 1971-1984. This manual is the preferred choice of many - I tend to use it to supplement others although perhaps this is because I have a 1970 BS.

Fiat 124 Sport Owners Workshop Manual 1966-75 - Autobooks

A useful workshop manual particularly, as a contemporary guide for earlier models (1966-1975). Please note that this edition was published in 1975 and obviously doesn't cover any models after then eg. 2 litre. Interestingly, as well the more familiar Fiat Service manual diagrams and photos, this little book has a number of illustrations all of its own.

Fiat 124 Sport and 131 Mirafiori Owners Workshop Manual - Haynes

I'm sure most people are familiar with Haynes manuals. I've never been able to find one for the 124 - if there ever was one, please let me know. The twin-cams you'll find in your Spider are however, fundamentally the same as the 131 twin-cam covered in this manual. Most of the info in the cooling, fuelling and ignition sections relevant too. It would also be useful for anyone considering using the 131 gearbox which is supposed to be a tougher unit than the 124. UPDATE - there is indeed a 124 Sport Haynes Manual after all!
